Postal Balloon


Athanasius Kircher, a 17th-century Renaissance Man. Kircher was an inventor, composer, geographer, geologist, Egyptologist, historian, astronomer, archaeologist, and author of more than 40 published works. The print was done later, in around 1784 by Balthasar Anton Dunker, and depicts Kircher’s prediction of a 25thcentury postal balloon.
